As I was chatting about Netscape and Mozilla, with a colleague of mine in Brazil, we remembered "code rush": http://www.viddler.com/explore/coderush/videos/1/ I am glad this documentary went out to show an amazing part of the software history, and silicon valley. Thanks Doug for reminding me this! dougsland.livejournal.com

enterprise ready pki is open source
|
This is from an older article I had on another blog, which I wanted to also post here: This is quite something, in March 2008, Red Hat allowed to make the Certificate System an open source project through the dogtag community hosted by Fedora. The certificate system was originally developed by Netscape engineers, and was acquired in 2005 by Red Hat. It took more time than http://directory.fedoraproject.org/, but it finally happened. Just to name some of the cool things in this product, is Apache with NSS from http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/nss/overview.html, called "Fortitude" http://directory.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fortitude See: http://www.press.redhat.com/2008/03/19/source-code-for-red-hat-certificate-system-released/ Dogtag 1.1.0 was released in April 2009. And the Red Hat Certificate System 8.0 will come this summer. And be sure to visit: http://pki.fedoraproject.org/ http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/cert-system/ |

Ho my, Thanks to Fred, I can now enjoy this blog on blogmag.net I do not blog often, and several of my friends keep telling I should, and this is not a waist of time, so may be this blog will be updated, or once in a while. I have to admit, Fred has several cool comments in this blog. M. |
